Iris ensata variegata is a great addition to many gardens. This plant it does well in moist to dry soil and grows 2 to 3 feet tall. This iris makes a statement woodland gardens Japanese gardens and also tropical landscapes. The dark purple flowers emerge in spring and last a few weeks. The most appealing part of this plant is the variegated grass like foliage which is stunning all summer long. Each leaf has a large white band running up the foliage from top to bottom. Add it to a Colocasias or Pineapple lily arrangement and you have a show stopper.
Plants can also grow well in bogs or water features.
Plants are potted in 4 1/2 inch pots.
